This sculpture was produced from a commission by the Drang Gallery in Padstow, Cornwall, the UK home of the John Dory fish.

This sculpture moves away from the usual fast streamlined fish that I sculpt and shows the stylish details of this ancient oceanic creature.

Laminated in two moulds.

Carbon fibre, titanium, stainless steel and selected F1 Grand Prix parts.

Limited to 24 pieces.

Sculpture spec:

Body: Carbon fibre, 3 ply/layers 2 x 2 twill 200 gsm with a Texalium inlay. This gives a thickness of 2.4 mm. Gold tinted UV resistant clear coating.

Dorsal and underside fins:Coated 0.5 mm photo etched stainless steel.

Tail and pectoral fins: Coated 0.5 mm photo etched stainless steel.

Nostrils: Aluminium top hat from the Sahara Force India GP team part number D9 JO40035.

Eyes: Pressured aluminium fuel flap valve from the Sahara Force India GP team part number 12J04-0052-155 03A.

Gills detail: Silver foil tape 0.2 mm used on F1 wind tunnel models.

Exhausts: -2 45º titanium hydraulic fittings.

Mounting base and rod: Section of FIA legality perma-glass underfloor plank from the Sahara Force India F1 Team part no. 13 J23 02101A used at the 2013 Chinese GP, Sergio Pérez, with cat flap actuator from the Honda F1 team part no. 050-A1-089-2 B37461.

Mounting methods: Desk mounted.
